I skipped The Flatliners at Double Whammy a couple of weeks ago. My partner and I decided a couple of hours before that we didn’t have the energy for a super energetic show, where we only knew some of the music, with two support acts on a Wednesday night. And we were ok with that! Is this maturing??

I didn't think of it as maturing - but you might be onto something there! Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks for sharing your experience - when I read all the things that happened in the lead up to you skipping the gig I completely understood and I would have done the same! Sometimes it’s like adult life is just conspiring against us doing a fun thing. I am no psychologist but I would say don’t worry that you missed the one, maybe if it happened a few times but that once off seems like a ‘normal’ response.

I don’t think I have skipped a gig recently but my husband is classic for saying yes to tickets then forgetting he doesn’t like to go out on a school night… usually my friend fills in for him!

Actually I bailed on Weezers blue album tour sadly, but that was because I had a 10 day old baby. I was extremely optimistic about what kind of activities new mums and babies can easily do when I said yes to that ticket 😅

Aw, that sucks - but awesome that you got on with life after having a baby! My ex-wife was the same with our three and I always felt really proud of her for it. Thanks for replying and sharing!

Oh yeah. Mad Caddies 2023. 5 days before xmas. Life happened and the idea of going to a ska gig alone in a new city did not rock my boat. Spent the night listening to the Caddies with my wife in the lounge at home, together. It was the right call.

But did you dance around the lounge as well? Glad to hear it was the right call :)
